Val Badia Jazz Festival

Other people hardly are as artistically talented as the Ladins. In almost every family there is a musician, a sculptor, a carver or a songwriter. Whether if it is hobby or main profession, most Ladins are somehow artists. 

In 1999 some of them organized for the first time a jazz festival in Abtei. At that time it was small and limited to a few concerts. Today it is one of the most important jazz festivals throughout South Tyrol with concerts and performances in whole Alta Badia. 

Many local artists, but also international musicians have enthused during the last years, for example Andrea Pozza, Mauro Ottolini, Gianni Basso, Claudio Filippini, Gianni Cazzola, Francesco Bearzatti, Enrico Crivellaro, Nick Becattini, Slide Hampton, James Thompson (Zucchero), Dilene Ferraz, Vincent Williams, Alan Farrington, Kay Foster Jackson or Peaches Staten.
