Familienhotel Bella Vista**** is situated in the small village of Trafoi near Stilfs. Surrounded by the dreamlike landscape of Stilfserjoch National Park and by the peaks of Ortler Group, you enjoy a very special view from our house. Being the family of skiing legend Gustav Thöni, we give very high importance to Alpine cosiness. Our rooms with natural colours and wooden details are comfortable and ideal for up to 5 persons. In addition to soft beds, a bathroom with shower or bathtub, WC, hairdryer, satellite TV, phone, each room offers a panoramic balcony or terrace. The family rooms also have a comfortable sitting area.

A feel-good place for the whole family

Our family hotel is the perfect stay if you travel with children. At the Bear Club and at the Children’s Alm, children are offered a varied activity program. As well, we have a great playground in our garden as well as the new heated outdoor pool. The supervised meals as well as guided family hikes complete our broad offer.

The kitchen team at Hotel Bella Vista pampers you with Alpine delicacies of organic products, accompanied by award-winning wines from our wine cellar. Once a week, we organise a wine tasting. Our spa area with steam bath, infrared cabin, infinity pool and whirlpools is ideal for recharging your energies. The environs of Hotel Bella Vista in Trafoi are a paradise for active guests. Host Gustav Thöni himself accompanies you on hikes and on the perfectly prepared slopes of Ortler Skiarena. As well, discovery tours at the National Park are very popular among our guests.

We had a wonderful week at the Bellavista Hotel! The hotel is beautiful, and we enjoyed every second. As parents with young children, we had a truly relaxing vacation for the first time – I even managed to read four books! Despite the ongoing expansion, the construction wasn't a problem at all. Stefan and his team pampered us completely – with genuine warmth and great attention. The cuisine, in particular, is outstanding and easily rivals the very best. A dream of a hotel – we will definitely be back!

Visited August 2021. Unique location. Beautiful but slightly dated structure. Large and comfortable room, though a little outdated. No air conditioning, but that wasn't necessary. Meals offer a good selection and good quality. To be perfect, it could use a bit of modernization, especially considering the rather high prices. Above all, and unfortunately, as is often the case in South Tyrol, the owners could use a little more warmth. Nothing special, formally always friendly enough, but sometimes a little curt and cold when faced with even ordinary requests. In conclusion, I recommend it, but I would suggest a little more of a smile, at least for Italian customers like me.

Exceptional!! Located in a stunning mountain setting. This hotel is everything a person dreams of. Professionally managed by a wonderful family. Top-notch services and refined cuisine, with special attention to children with a wonderful kids' club.

I arrived for the bike day. The hotel is perfectly located on the route between Prato and the Stelvio Pass (approx. 11 km). First of all, the breakfast and dinner included in the half-board package were sensational. It was unusually cold for us at the end of August. Surprisingly, the radiators weren't working; that shouldn't happen. The answer to the warning was "it's August," but when it's below 10 degrees Celsius, you can turn on the radiators even in August. A small fan heater was provided for our use. Nevertheless, our swimsuits and beach towels didn't dry properly. There's room for improvement. My wife and I received an email in advance stating that a 5% discount was being offered during the current construction work. When I paid the bill, this discount wasn't listed. After inquiring about it, the elderly lady at the reception desk replied, somewhat bewildered, that it only applied during the week. (We arrived on Friday, and the construction site was in full swing. If I'm going to send us something like this by email, I'm not going to start another argument about this "generous" discount. For me personally, that was the downer. An unnecessary move by the lady at the reception. As for wellness, well, everyone has different tastes. A barrel sauna is nice, but hmm, set up in the garden pond, next to the beautiful pool with a sensational view of the Ortler region. I hope the new building includes a sauna inside the building so you don't have to walk through the dining room. (Of course, that could have been due to the construction work.)

It was our first time there and we were immediately impressed upon arrival. Very nice and friendly staff The view from the room was fantastic The food was 5 stars TOP Highly recommended!!!

A very nice hotel right on the Stelvio Pass road. The panoramic rooms are spacious, with views of the Ortler and its satellite peaks, and are very tastefully furnished. The breakfast is first-class, and the rooms are truly comfortable.

A beautiful hotel founded by the legendary Gustav Thoeni, currently managed by his daughter. A very elegant, classically styled structure. Inside, it houses artifacts from the legendary champion. The view from the veranda overlooking the Stelvio Pass is truly breathtaking.

A warm atmosphere with a lounge and fireplace, and a splendid terrace for aperitifs, strudel, or beer. The restaurant offers a variety of high-quality dishes every evening, as well as a generous buffet with vegetables, cold cuts, cheeses, soups, and much more. A swimming pool, sauna, Turkish bath, and massage area complete the experience. Perfect for couples and small families seeking relaxation, flavor, and Alpine tradition.
