Merano is een plaats van genot, en niet alleen in culinaire zin. Je kunt hier van alles beleven: prachtig aangelegde promenades, wandelingen over de nabijgelegen Waalwege-irrigatiekanalen, fietstochten over vloeiende singletrails, de bloemenpracht in de onvergetelijke tuinen van kasteel Trauttmansdorff, zomeravondconcerten in kastelen en landhuizen en nog veel meer.
In de herfst nodigen de talrijke wijnhuizen en herbergen in Merano en omgeving uit om de nieuwe wijn te proeven op traditionele Törggele-feesten. In de winter biedt het skigebied Merano 2000 perfect geprepareerde pistes en de populaire kerstmarkt trekt talrijke bezoekers van heinde en verre.
Kortom: vandaag de dag is Merano gegarandeerd nooit saai. Hoewel het kuuroord trouw is gebleven aan zijn vroegere Sissi-imago, is het ook met zijn tijd meegegaan en is het duidelijk en vooral voorbeeldig de 21e eeuw binnengetreden. Merano is leuk - meer dan ooit!
