The beautiful harvest festival in St. Leonhard, a fraction of Abtei in Alta Badia delights with the traditional parade, musical entertainment and culinary specialities.
On Saturday evening there is a prelude with Ladin music groups. On Sunday, after the festive church service, the big parade follows as the highlight. Various music bands, colourfully decorated carriages, traditional costume groups and Noriker and Haflinger horses with their riders take part.
The Leonhardi Ride (Ladin: Rait de San Linert) always takes place on a weekend at the beginning of November in honour of St. Leonhard: His day of remembrance is 6th November and he is considered the patron saint of cattle and especially horses.
