The Tauferer Ahrntal valley is a unique place of well-being, where you will experience the magic of the South Tyrolean mountain world. Right in the middle of this natural scenery, between the edge of the forest and the bank of the river Ahr, only a few steps from the village centre of St. Johann you will find our Hotel Auren***.

We provide 27 spacious and comfortable guestrooms. All are equipped with phone, TV, safe, sitting area, bathroom and a balcony with wonderful view on the impressive mountain landscape of the upper valley. In the wellness and sauna area, you will spend some relaxing moments.

Hiking & skiing in the Ahrntal Valley

Families with children are cordially welcome at our Hotel Auren, as well as passionate hikers, mountaineers and bikers. For them, there are many leisure time activities in the surroundings. In winter, you will spend romantic and active hours in the nearby skiing areas of Speikboden and Klausberg.

I'd give it more than 3 stars. The food is excellent, and the staff is very kind and helpful, especially Azin. I hope I wrote this correctly. He treats all his customers equally, thank you.

Pros: + Super friendly staff + Ideal location for great hikes in the Ahrntal Valley (free bus and train travel with the Guest Card) + Hotel bar/table tennis/billiards offer variety + Very delicious breakfast and dinner! The 4-star chef in summer 2025 cooked very well! + Always the option to put together a generous hiking snack yourself or have it brought along + We would come back for the food and the location!! Cons: - Unfortunately, we were a bit disappointed with the room compared to the online advertising photos - Our room was clearly in need of renovation - My mattress was saggy, hard, and old

Excellent location, very spacious rooms with a lovely terrace. It's a shame the bathroom is very small and doesn't have a bidet. Nice lawn with lounge chairs, but it would be ideal if they could provide umbrellas so we could use them in the afternoon. Buffet and meals are reasonable for the price, and mosquito nets on the windows in the restaurant would also be a good idea. Sauna and Turkish bath available upon request, but the hot tub isn't working. There's a games room with billiards and table football. The staff is very helpful and friendly, and I'd like to give a special mention to Mr. Zihn, who was always professional and smiling, without being overbearing. We had a great time, and he was always ready and efficient.

Perfect stay! We spent a week at this hotel and were truly satisfied. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and we slept great. The restaurant surprised us: generous, tasty, and carefully prepared dishes. The staff was extremely kind and helpful, always smiling and ready to help. Excellent location, comfortable, quiet rooms, and Rita, always available. We'll definitely be back next year. I forgot to mention that dogs are welcome. I stayed at this hotel from July 3, 2025, to July 9, 2025.
