The Riesling Days in Naturns have become a tradition in the last years and the 19th edition will take place this year in spring and early summer.
Riesling-grapes were cultivated in South Tyrol since the middle of 19th century. But it lasted many years until wine-growers knew that only the surroundings of Naturns, in Vinschgau and the Eisacktal offer the perfect conditions to attain a first-class Riesling.
Nowadays, the Riesling from South Tyrol can bear easily the comparison with Rieslings from classic growing areas like Mosel and Rhein in Germany or the ones in Italy. Because of that, not only South Tyrolean Riesling but also Italian Riesling will be presented to an international jury, which have to award the best wines.
