Rural cuisine and wedding celebrations! A culinary and traditional experience is waiting for you in January in Kastelruth on the mountain pasture Seiser Alm.
This special event is not exclusively about food and drink, but you will learn more about typical old wedding customs of the region. Of course, you will enjoy also many original and hearty dishes, like they were served for wedding feasts in former times.
Furthermore, there is organized a pageant from St. Valentin to Kastelruth with decorated horse-drawn sleighs for the rural wedding party. Bride and groom are presented then on the village square of Kastelruth together with their entourage.
Then it is time for an extensive wedding feast and the restaurants and inns in Kastelruth offer traditional South Tyrolean dishes, prepared according to ancient recipes.
