Törggele time in Kastelbell-Tschars

With the beginning of autumn and of the harvest in the wine-growing areas of the region there starts the everywhere highly esteemed "Törggele" season, that’s the South Tyrolean tradition. For all those, who still don’t know the tradition of Törggelen: This old rural custom is all about pleasure and culinary delights. 

So if you range among gourmets, you won’t have a better opportunity to taste the local autumn specialities. Roast chestnuts, new wine, hearty soups, dumplings, bacon, sausages with cabbage and potatoes and much more are served between the end of September and mid-November also in the rustic inns in Kastelbell-Tschars. 

It would be best if you’d combine the visit to one of the rustic taverns with an autumn hike through colourful forests and idyllic chestnut groves.

Moreover, we recommend you a trip to Juval Castle owned by the famous South Tyrolean mountaineer Reinhold Messner and to Kastelbell Castle.
