Het Val Venosta ligt aan de voeten van koning Ortles en is waarschijnlijk een van de meest veelzijdige vakantieregio's van Zuid-Tirol: gletsjertoppen in het zuiden en noorden en daartussen appelboomgaarden en wijngaarden zover het oog reikt.

De beste manier om het Val Venosta te verkennen is op de fiets door de appelboomgaarden of te voet langs de vele irrigatiekanalen aan de zonnige kant van het dal. Deze gevarieerde paden, die leiden langs de oude irrigatiekanalen - de zogenaamde Waalen - verbinden de vele kleinere en grotere dorpen van de Val Venosta, die vooral een bezoek waard zijn in de lente wanneer de appels in bloei staan en in de herfst tijdens de druivenoogst.
