Großberghütte

The mountain hut Großberghütte is located at the beginning of Altfasstal Valley, at 1,640 meters above sea level, in the middle of a beautiful nature and surrounded by green meadows. Here you can enjoy the pleasant and warm atmosphere of our spacious terrace, which invites you to sunbathe and to taste the typical dishes of our cuisine like venison, cakes and excellent ice cream.

Altfasstal Valley is the ideal starting point for hikes of different difficulty, climbing or just walking from one hut to another. And after a day out in the open or on the slopes, what's better than a funny evening in our Stube (snuggery). Our apartments are all furnished with the greatest care and can accommodate up to six people. Each apartment consists of a living room, a kitchenette, two bedrooms, a bathroom with shower and balcony. In addition, the apartments have telephone, satellite TV, dishes and towels. On request, the TERRA® Medical Energy & Antistress bed set is available, which promotes regenerative and quality sleep, improving falling asleep and reducing night waking, at a cost of € 25.00 per night/day.

The Großberg alpine hut is the ideal starting point for alpine hikes, cycling tours, via ferrata and climbing tours during the summer season.  In winter, you can spend your time in the near ski area Gitschberg Jochtal, which is very famous for winter sports. You can enjoy the cross-country courses in front of our home, reach the lifts in a few minutes or enjoy sledding. Skiers and snowboarders have a transport service to and from the nearby ski resort.
