A very nice hotel with a superb location on the edge of the village with direct access to the mountains. Very friendly, attentive staff; you can tell it's owner-managed. The evening menus are a dream! The price is quite high, but you get the corresponding quality. We'll be back as soon as we can!

I only used the catering service, which I'd describe as excellent! Quality food prepared by a very talented chef. Great selection of wines. We'll be back!

Our good friends have been going to this hotel in Obereggen for a decade and have been raving about the location, rooms, staff and most of all the Chef and his cuisine. We finally had an opportunity to stay nearly a week here this winter and have to say they were spot on on almost everything. The renovated rooms were very comfortable and the lobby plush and welcoming. The heated outdoor pool was my favourite in the spa. Every staff member from the family themselves to their hired help was so friendly, helpful and kind - genuine hospitality. The dinners were amazing - always something different and quite creative every evening, and we have eaten our way through many restaurants in the world so our compliments were sincere. It’s skis aux pieds and the sledging run is just next to the hotel. If you needed to visit other villages in the valley (we made a few outings) the bus stop was not far away. You can hire skis from a shop near the gondola station and they can pick up from the hotel at the end of your stay. The station itself felt safe though I have to say that there wasn’t much to do or see once you are out of your accommodation.

My first stay at the Hotel Sonnalp was characterized by relaxation and pure activity. A bit of everything, just as it should be. The staff was very friendly, the food excellent, and the wine recommendations were truly fantastic. I had a beautiful double room for single occupancy, in which I felt completely at home. It was absolutely clean, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. There are beautiful hikes from the hotel (the chairlift is right outside the door), and the hotel's senior manager and daughter gave me excellent advice. I also went on a guided hike, which I absolutely loved. The mountain guide shared his knowledge of the area with us; it was incredibly interesting. I will be back!

A truly beautiful hotel. The family is always approachable and ready to offer advice and assistance. The service staff go above and beyond, leaving guests wanting for nothing. The mid-range room is sufficiently large and well-equipped, with comfortable beds. The bathroom lighting could be brighter. There are numerous hiking trails right outside or in the surrounding area. Bolzano is a half-hour bus ride away.
