Tussen eind november en begin januari vinden in veel steden in Zuid-Tirol kerstmarkten plaats - de grootste en bekendste natuurlijk in Bolzano en Merano. Maar ook Bruneck, Brixen, Vipiteno en Glurns zijn een bezoek waard tijdens de advent.
Als je de voorkeur geeft aan iets rustigers en traditionelers, bezoek dan de kerstmarkten in de Zuid-Tiroolse dorpen, bijvoorbeeld het Alpenadvent in het Sarntal. Er is weinig kitsch, maar wel veel echte Sarner specialiteiten, typische producten en contemplatieve muziek.
Ook de Kastelruthher Weihnacht, het Gassl-Advent in Klausen of de kerstmagie aan het Lago di Carezza zijn aanraders.
