In Advent, Meran is festively decorated. The wonderful Christmas market attracts many visitors every year.

Tussen eind november en begin januari worden in veel steden in Zuid-Tirol kerstmarkten gehouden - de grootste en bekendste natuurlijk in Bolzano en Merano. Maar ook Bruneck, Brixen, Vipiteno en Glurns zijn zeker een bezoekje waard tijdens de adventstijd.
Als je de voorkeur geeft aan iets rustigers en traditionelers, bezoek dan de kerstmarkten in de Zuid-Tiroolse dorpen, bijvoorbeeld in het Alpenadvent in het Sarntal. Er is daar weinig kitsch, maar wel veel echte Sarentinese specialiteiten, typische producten en contemplatieve muziek.
We raden ook de Kastelrutherse kerstmarkt of de Gasslse adventsmarkt in Klausen aan.
