Klettersteig Masaré-Rotwand
De klettersteig Masaré-Rotwand voert door het unieke gebied Catinaccio-Latemar en is niet al te moeilijk. Hoewel de tocht ongeveer 7 uur duurt, is hij geclassificeerd als middelzwaar. Je moet dus een goede fysieke conditie hebben als je deze klettersteig wilt doen.
Routebeschrijving:
De dallocatie van de bergtocht is de Karerpas in de Dolomieten. Neem de Paolina stoeltjeslift omhoog naar de gelijknamige Rifugio. Daar volg je trail 549 naar de Rotwandhütte op 2.280 m. Volg de borden naar de klettersteig. Deze is goed beveiligd en relatief kort. In 1 uur bereik je Punta Masaré (2.727 m). Hier gaat de tocht verder over rotsen en nog steeds beveiligd naar de top van de Rotwand, vanwaar je kunt genieten van een prachtig uitzicht op de omliggende bergen.
Keer terug via de beveiligde noordkam naar Passo Vajolon. Ga verder via pad 551 naar pad 549, dat klimmers terug naar Passo Paolina leidt.
