Vakantie in Varna
Varna ligt, beschut tegen de koude noordenwind, ten noordwesten van Brixen en wordt vaak de "poort naar het zuiden" genoemd. Dit dorp in het Eisacktal is van de lente tot de herfst het perfecte startpunt voor diverse wandel- en fietstochten in Zuid-Tirol en spreekt zowel rustige genieters als sportieve vakantiegangers aan.
Pareltjes in het dorpsbeeld van Varna zijn de prachtige parochiekerk met gotische klokkentoren en diverseoude landhuizen. In de wijngaardenrondom groeien de druiven voor fruitige, sappige en minerale witte wijnen, zoals bijvoorbeeld Kerner en Sylvaner, maar ook voor typische Zuid-Tirolse rode wijnen zoals Lagrein en Vernatsch.

In het Eisacktal kent het Törggelen in de herfst een lange traditie. In en rond Varna kunnen vakantiegangers in de herfst in de talrijke wijnlokalen genieten van geroosterde kastanjes, jonge wijn, Schlutzkrapfen, knoedels en nog veel meer. Bij het prachtige Varner Meer begint de bekende Keschtnweg, die in verschillende etappes naar kasteel Runkelstein bij Bolzano leidt.

Klimliefhebbers kunnen hun hart ophalen in het klimparcours Spiluck. En fietsers kunnen, afhankelijk van het seizoen, hun persoonlijke voorkeur en trainingsniveau, kiezen tussen fietspaden in het dal, mountainbikeroutes op almen en racefietstochten over Dolomietenpassen zoals de Würzjoch.

Culturele belevenissen
Het beroemde Augustinerklooster Novacella werd in 1142 gesticht door de bisschop van Brixen, Hartmann. Het kloostercomplex in Maria Novacella, een deelgemeente van Varna, herbergt culturele schatten uit verschillende eeuwen en de oudste wijnkelder in het Eisacktal. Ook tijdens een wandeling door het nabijgelegen Brixen valt er veel te ontdekken: bijvoorbeeld de prachtige dom of de pittoreske arcades met een gevarieerd aanbod aan winkels en restaurants.
