Cross-country ski race Ridnaun

In the warmer parts of the region sportsmen will already prepare their cycles and mountain bikes, while in Ridnaun cross-country skiers can still follow their pleasure.
Since several years the "Volkslauf" is a fixed date for this kind of winter athletes coming from South Tyrol, but also from all over Italy, from Germany and Austria. One reason for the popularity of the last cross-country ski race in Ridnaun is probably the natural beauty of the high valley.
The participants can choose between a short distance with 25 km and the marathon distance with 42 km, both in freestyle. The majority of the cross-country skiers will again be amateurs, but also some top athletes will attend this last race of the season in Eisacktal. Kids and teenagers can participate in the so-called Junior sprint over 6 km.
