Het natuurreservaat beslaat een gebied van 10.722 hectare en delen van de gemeentelijke gebieden van Badia, Corvara in Badia, Funes, San Martino in Badia, San Martino in Badia, Santa Cristina in Ortisei en Wolkenstein in Val Gardena. Het natuurpark Puez Odle biedt een verscheidenheid aan routes voor bergsportliefhebbers: van via ferrata's op de Sass Rigais tot een wandeling naar de Lech de Crespëina: de vierde etappe van de beroemde Dolomieten Alta Via nr. 2 leidt ook langs dit pittoreske meertje. Oplettende natuurliefhebbers kunnen niet alleen de fauna en flora in het natuurpark bewonderen, maar ook prachtige mineralen en fossielen ontdekken. Maar let op: verzamelen is natuurlijk verboden in het natuurgebied. Een gezinsvriendelijke rondwandeling begint bij de parkeerplaats in Zans aan het einde van de Funes vallei: de Zans natuurontdekkingsroute.

De tentoonstelling daar geeft een overzicht van een onvoorstelbaar lange periode: van het ontstaan van de Dolomieten zo'n 270 miljoen jaar geleden tot nu. Het natuurparkhuis Puez Odle in St. Magdalena in Funes laat bezoekers kennismaken met de geologie, fauna en flora van het natuurpark en legt de nadruk op alpinisme.
