Handwerk in Zuid-Tirol
Traditioneel handwerk leeft voort in Zuid-Tirol. Vooral in dalen die vroeger moeilijk bereikbaar waren, werden vaardigheden van generatie op generatie doorgegeven en zo bewaard. Handwerk hielp vaak niet alleen om de verveling op lange winteravonden te verdrijven, maar ook om te overleven.
In onze snelle tijden groeit de waardering weer voor dingen die met liefde en geduld door vaardige handen zijn gemaakt. Uit hout gesneden of gedraaid, gevilt of geweven van schapenwol, kantklossen van linnen garen of geborduurd met een ganzenveer: In heel Zuid-Tirol, van het Tauferer Ahrntal tot het Val Gardena, van Val Gardena tot Passeier, worden unieke dingen gemaakt volgens beproefde traditie en met nieuwe ideeën.
Onder het overkoepelende merk Roter Hahn (Rode Haan ) worden bijvoorbeeld unieke handwerkartikelen geproduceerd door boeren. De Rode Haan maakt de landelijke manier van leven op verschillende manieren tastbaar en biedt niet alleen vakantie op de boerderij en genieten van de boerderij (landelijke tavernes en kwaliteitsproducten), maar ook landelijk handwerk. De stukken die direct op de boerderij van natuurlijke materialen uit Zuid-Tirol zijn gemaakt, geven langdurig plezier.
