Muziekgroepen in Zuid-Tirol
En ze komen de bocht om, uitgedost van de zool tot de kruin, hun instrumenten fijn gepoetst, de zon weerkaatsend. Er wordt een prachtige mars gespeeld, de kinderen zijn opgewonden om de mannen en vrouwen in traditionele klederdracht te zien. Welk feest er ook gevierd wordt in Zuid-Tirol, of het nu een kerkelijk feest of een kerkelijke feestdag is, de meer dan 200 muziekkorpsen in Zuid-Tirol maken van elk evenement iets speciaals en typisch Zuid-Tirools.
In Zuid-Tirol zijn talloze meisjes en jongens, vrouwen en mannen actief in muziekkorpsen, de meesten onder de 30. Bijna elk dorp heeft wel een muziek- of boerenkorps. In de winter repeteren ze ijverig en oefenen ze het repertoire voor het volgende seizoen. Met de bandmeester repeteren ze oude Oostenrijkse marsen, prachtige walsen, ouvertures en hedendaagse stukken. In het voorjaar vinden dan de eerste voorjaarsconcerten plaats, gevolgd door concerten op dorps- en stadsfeesten, Tiroolse feestdagen, kerkdagen en soms bruiloften.
De klederdracht
De traditionele klederdracht is vooral belangrijk voor muziekkorpsen. Hoewel de kostuums van de verschillende muziekkorpsen op elkaar lijken, verschillen ze op verschillende punten. Een bijzonder curieus kenmerk: in het Sarntal betekent de rode hoedenkoord dat de muzikant nog beschikbaar is - als de koord groen is, is hij al bezet.
