Kasteel Tirol in Dorf Tirol
Het kasteel, waarin tegenwoordig het streekhistorisch museum is gevestigd, verkeert in uitstekende staat. De gordijnmuur, die al in 1100 werd gebouwd, is een van de oudste en best bewaarde vestingmuren die er bestaan.
De marmeren portalen uit de 12e eeuw, die rijkelijk versierd zijn met beelden en symbolen, behoren tot de origineelste creaties van de Romaanse kunst in Tirol. De kapel bevat fresco's uit de 13e eeuw, een kruisigingsgroep uit de 14e eeuw en de oudste Tiroolse gebrandschilderde ramen.
Het cultuur- en streekhistorisch museum is echter niet alleen gewijd aan de middeleeuwen, maar ook aan de bewogen geschiedenis van Zuid-Tirol en presenteert regelmatig wisselende, interessante speciale tentoonstellingen.
